How do I activate my AEY Mobile eSIM?

After your purchase, you receive an email with a unique QR code. On your eSIM-compatible smartphone:

  • iPhone (iOS 12.1+): Settings → Cellular → Add Plan → Scan the QR.
  • Android (Pixel, Samsung S, recent Xiaomi…): Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM.

Activation takes 1 to 2 minutes. No need to restart.

Is my phone eSIM compatible?

Most smartphones launched after 2019 support eSIM. On Apple: iPhone XS and newer. On Android: Pixel 3+, Samsung Galaxy S20+, Xiaomi 12+, plus all iPhone 14/15/16.

To check: dial *#06# on your phone. If you see an "EID" (15 digits), your phone is eSIM compatible.

When should I install my eSIM?

We recommend installing the eSIM before you leave, from your WiFi at home. That way you can check everything works, stress-free.

The eSIM isn't "used up" at installation: the plan's validity only starts when you turn on data roaming, on arrival in the country.

Can I keep my French number at the same time?

Yes, that's the big advantage of the eSIM: it runs alongside your main physical SIM. You keep your French number reachable for texts and calls, and use the AEY eSIM only for data on site.

Turn on "Cellular Data: AEY eSIM" and keep the main SIM for calls. You can disable roaming on the main SIM to avoid any surprise bill.

Traveling

My eSIM has no signal on arrival, what should I do?
  • Check that "Data Roaming" is enabled for the AEY eSIM in your Settings → Cellular.
  • Manually select a network operator: Settings → Cellular → Network Selection (turn off Auto).
  • Toggle airplane mode for 30 seconds.
  • Restart the phone once you're there.

If it still doesn't work, write to us at esim@aey-mobile.com with your order number, we'll look into it within 4h.

How can I check how much data I have left?

Log in to your AEY account: you see your usage in real time, the expiry date, and you can buy another plan in 2 clicks.

On iPhone, you can also see eSIM usage in Settings → Cellular → AEY Mobile.

I'm almost out of data, how do I top up?

Log in to your account and buy a new plan for the same destination. The new data is added automatically to your existing eSIM within minutes. No need to scan a new QR code.

Does the eSIM work in several countries?

It depends on the plan you choose:

  • Country plan (e.g. Japan): usable only in that country.
  • Europe plan: covers 42 European countries, you move from one country to another without changing plans.
  • World plan: 139+ zones. Ideal for round-the-world trips or multi-country travel.

Order & billing

What payment methods do you accept?

Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), Apple Pay, Google Pay. Secure payment via Stripe (3-D Secure enabled). No banking data is stored on our servers.

Can I get an invoice?

Yes: your detailed invoice (with VAT, AEY SIRET, order number) is available in your AEY account as soon as payment is confirmed. You can also request it at contact@aey-mobile.com.

Refund policy?

As long as the eSIM hasn't been activated (data never used), full refund on simple request. Once the eSIM is activated, a refund is no longer possible (consumable plan).

How do I delete my data (GDPR)?

Send an email to rgpd@aey-mobile.com with your request. We delete your data within 30 days (except invoices, which French law requires us to keep for 10 years).
