Kizomba was born in Luanda in the 1980s, an offshoot of semba — the name means 'party' in Kimbundu. From Angolan dance floors it has conquered the globe, danced from Lisbon to Tokyo with festivals of its own on every continent.
The giant sable antelope lives only in Angola. Feared extinct during the civil war, it survived — and gives the national football team its nickname, the Palancas Negras.
